Vice just made a fascinating three-part series on The Pink Panthers, a notorious criminal syndicate that was born out of the ashes of Yugoslavia. Their true origins are unknown, but their intentions are much clearer; steal jewels, and get away. The Western World has always had a fascination with heists and large scale robberies, one of the first movies ever made was The Great Train Robbery. From there you have The Italian Job, Inside Man, the Oceans trilogy, etc, etc... The moral of the story is that we may hate being robbed, but we'll gladly pay to watch other people get robbed.
This series does a great job of exploring what brought some of The Pink Panthers to dive into the shadowy world of jewel heists, and is well worth watching. Think of it this way if you're looking for a little adrenaline rush, if you watch it at work you're technically stealing time from your employer!

I saw that series, it was great. I enjoy reading them quite a bit
On a related note I ended up at a bar with one of Vice's staff writers a few months ago and we got shithoused before he got shipped to London for a 3 month assignment. They hire some great people (and some questionable ones)
